What This Move Is
The lead spins the follow, takes the pressure off over her head, and finishes with the arm resting around her neck and shoulders, forearm angled up so she doesn't have to bend her neck. A soft, decorative position-change. (Distinct from the advanced "neck drop," a supported backward drop — covered separately if your syllabus includes it.)
Key Points
- Lead: Angle the forearm up so the follow never has to bend her neck — never press or force it (safety first).
- Follow: Spin, let the arm settle, keep your head and arms soft, never resist.
- Timing: On1 settle on 5-6-7 out of the turn; On2 on 2/6.
- Common mistake: Forcing or pressing on the neck, or making her bend it; a stiff arm.
Style Notes
A sensual, slow-passage accent. Keep it light and always offer a clean way out — the follow's comfort governs everything here.
