Rejection
Also known as: Rechazo, send-back
Begin a cross-body lead, then change your mind: the leader checks the follower and sends her back the way she came, a playful fake-out that resets the line.
What This Move Is
A cross-body lead that is started and then revoked. As the follower commits to crossing, the leader checks her with the arm and redirects her straight back to where she began — a deliberate 'rejection' of the cross that surprises and resets.
Lead & Follow It
The leader leads a clear check before the follower is past the point of no return, then leads the send-back firmly but kindly. The follower stays responsive to the frame and lets herself be redirected rather than barrelling through.
The Thing Almost Everyone Gets Wrong
Checking too late, after the follower has already committed her weight — then it becomes a yank. The redirect has to come early, while she can still change direction comfortably.
How It Connects
It returns you to open position on the original line, ready to actually complete a cross-body lead or launch a turn next time.
