Diva Walks (Walk-Around)
Also known as: Walk-around, lady walks, paseo
The follower's spotlight: led on one high hand, she struts a slow walk-around the leader, styling freely as she circles — the showcase moment of LA-line social dancing.
Coach's notes — the how & why
What This Move Is
A travelling showcase where the follower walks a slow circle around the leader, connected by a single raised hand. It hands the floor to the follower for a few counts of strutting, styling and presence — the 'diva' moment.
Lead & Follow It
The leader simply offers a stable high hand and turns on the spot to stay facing her, doing as little as possible. The follower owns the walk: long steps, strong posture, and whatever arm and body styling the music invites.
The Thing Almost Everyone Gets Wrong
The leader over-leading it and stealing the moment. This is the follower's spotlight — give a clean frame and then get out of the way.
How It Connects
It comes out of a prep or hand-toss and returns to open position, an ideal breather that still looks like a feature.
