Cape (La Capa)

Also known as: La Capa, the cloak

The leader sweeps the joined hand around the follower's back like a matador's cape, wrapping and releasing her across his body in one flowing, theatrical pass.

What This Move Is

A wrap-and-release figure named for the matador's cape. The leader carries the joined hand around the follower's upper back, draping her momentarily against his frame before sweeping her back out across the slot. It is showy but built on a cross-body path.

Lead & Follow It

The leader leads the sweep with the body and a high, soft hand, letting the wrap brush the back rather than clamp it. The follower travels with the cape and stays tall, letting the drape happen without leaning into it.

How It Connects

It flows out of and back into the cross-body lead, so use it as a decorative pass between line patterns.
