What This Move Is
Controlled arm extensions at various angles, wrist rolls and frames that match and complement the body movement — including the hair-comb / hair-drape accent (running a hand over the hair). Rule of thumb: if the hips are doing a lot, keep the arms calmer, and vice versa.
Key Points
- Either role: Let the arms follow and match the body, not fight it; keep elbows clear of your partner.
- Timing: Arm lines resolve on accents and pauses.
- Common mistake: Floppy, disconnected arms, or over-styling that clashes with the body.
Style Notes
The styling hair-comb is distinct from the partnered "hair-drape" turn (a led move where the lead's arm drapes over the follow's head). Keep free arms close to avoid elbow collisions on a crowded floor.
