Arm Spiral

Also known as: Spiral turn

A free spin where the follower's arm coils overhead like a spring — she spins under a rising, spiralling hand and unwinds out the other side in one continuous flourish.

What This Move Is

A turn in which the follower spins under a hand that spirals up and over her head, coiling the arm and then releasing it. The spiral shape adds height and drama to what is otherwise a free turn.

Lead & Follow It

The leader keeps the hand light and lets it rise and rotate above the follower's head, never gripping. The follower spins freely underneath and lets her own arm spiral naturally rather than holding it stiff.

The Thing Almost Everyone Gets Wrong

Clamping the hand so the spiral cannot release, which wrenches the wrist. The whole figure depends on a loose, turning connection overhead.

How It Connects

It begins and ends as a free turn in open position, so it drops into any turn run and pairs well before a styling hit.
